April 15, 2009

I woke up early and decided to go to Niksic. (But I only made it as far as Danilovgrad!)

A computer shop in stadium near the hostel.

Hair salon. Also in stadium, just before the hostel.

Going the other way from the hostel.

This means foreign language school. In Serbian they just have one word for strangers and foreigners - stranih. I have had to explain to people you can know someone who is a foreigner or be a stranger, yet be from the same country!

A cafe where I met my friend Marina the other day.

Pretty tree behind the gas station.

I think Subota is Saturday.

Petak is Friday.

This means listen to Funky House by DJ so and so

I wonder if companies like this give the tables to bars.

Saatchi and Saatchi!? (In case you didn't know it is a world famous advertising agency based in England. Interesting that it is in the same office building as the Liberal Party of Montenegro.

When I did a search on Saatchi and Saatchi I ended up here...

http://www.lovemarks.com/video/132

lol

Great video.

But I feel a little cynical at the whole "Lovemarks" thing. They want you to fall in love with a brand? I'd much rather see people falling in love with each other!

Here is something from the S and S website. It is about Kevin Roberts.

Kevin is also the originator of Lovemark thinking. Lovemarks are brands that inspire loyalty beyond reason.

I also surfed around and found this quote by Napoleon:

I can no longer obey; I have tasted command, and I cannot give it up

But anyhow, back to my trip....

Just an example of the magazines they sell here. Pretty much the same as in the rest of the world.

English everywhere! Remember, this is in a tiny country called Montenegro, which almost no one even knows where it is!

Interesting.. I wonder who wrote this and what it means exactly.

Nice long socks. A poor woman sits just in front of her.

Shoes the poor woman will never be able to use, nor have a need for. Actually, would anyone have a need for these?!

That is 85 euro, or over 100 US dollars.

Seem to be made from snake skin.

These don't look very practical!

I can only remember seeing advertising for boxing like this in two countries... Bulgaria and now Montenegro.

But in Bulgaria they didn't advertise women boxers. Ah, equal rights for women. What a great thing!

Interesting to see all the corporate sponsors. One might think they would find something better to promote!

I took this next pic to remind me of this city Ohrid, which Andre from Russia/Germany was on the way to see. He said it was something like the birthplace of Europe.

I met a student from the economics high school as I was walking. He was about 30 minutes late for school but wasn't stressed over it. We talked together till the school and when I noticed this car he said it was one of the teachers. :)

Then I went back towards the place I had met the students before to get a sandwich. When I got to the little stand, there was no one there. But it was completey open. This is one of the many things I like about this place. People are more trusting and it feels relatively safe here compared to other countries I have lived in or visited.

Before I walked up to the stand I took this pic of the table, made from a pallet

This is the small pizza - 1 euro

Petar

Petar gave me some samples of the coffee he sells and distributes.
