Outside the National Theatre
The street with all the bars in a row.
This was kind of a coincidence to see today because my friend Mel in the USA had just written me and said she and her friends went to a "Hooka Bar".
Milosh or Miloshe - We had a nice long chat about Montenegro, politics, Balkans etc.
I asked how much this expresso machine cost and he said the people who sell the coffee give it to the bar to use if they buy their coffee.
Here is Mel's response when she saw the pics
Broken glass probably means someone's car was broken into.
I'm not sure how they get their clothes in.I didn't see any pulley.
This one does have pulleys.
Big new parking garage. It is one of the only ones I have seen in Mongtenegro.
Typical European thing.
This guy seems to have gone between the things to keep him out!
Lots of useable wood...
I think this means there are fifty places left. A bit puzzling cuz the garage looked pretty empty and I'd guess it had room for 300 or so. Further research required!
I wonder what marketing slogan this translates to. One thing I really don't think the Montenegrins needed urgently was more cosmetics. But this company has several big stores here and in other cities in Montenegro.
I saw one of my neighbors looking at one of these betting books. (I found this one ona bench). I asked how he was. He made a face like "not so good." I wished we could speak the same language so I could have helped him a bit by listening. He doesn't speak enough English and I don't speak enough Serbian. It really helps to be able to speak a common language. This makes me think of the Bible story that says God got angry and made people speak different languages. (The Tower of Bable story). Doesn't seem like a very smart move on God's part. It woud be a lot easier to help each other, cooperate and prevent wars through talking if people could speak a common language.
Nice block of shops, restaurants etc. Has WWW Internet cafe and Tropicana free WIFI bar/cafe, as well as a good fast food place and the popular Nags Head bar.
Not sure how you pronounce the name of this one. But it is the street with WWW Cafe etc. (They pronounce WWW as VVV)
Another cafe/bar restaurant street. Has the Spiritual Centar, Berlin, and the high speed Internet place.
Doesn't it look like she is picking her teeth with the straw?
This reminded me of the girl with the same brand shoes and bag from the gymnasium high school.
I think this car has been here a long time. I will check back later.
See how the dirt is collected around the tire?
Relieving himself behind Carine
Did I mention they like to put ketchup on their pizzas in the Balkans? I first saw this in Bulgaria or Romania.
I asked him if I could take pics of his car and he said ok.
I miss my Porsche.
Just kidding about the Porsche. I never had one!
Two of the soccer players from Podgorica's team. They told me they are practicing for the game against Niksic tomorrow.
Boris came over and we went for a walk on the gorica. His mom called him twice and his dad once. He helped me with a little Serbian. This means 1,000.
Two hundred
His dad calling him. He said his dad was angry because Boris wasn't at the gas station waiting for him so Boris hurried off.
I got a hamburger, again breaking my attempt at being vegetarian. See how they used to let the people put their own dressings on? It was like this at the first hamburger place I went to in Montenegro, but I haven't seen another since.
While waiting for Matea to come meet me, I noticed a guy with a backpack. I figured he was looking for my place and he was. He is Luic from Quebec. The girl in the middle came with Matea. She is Tiphaine from France. She is a volunteer with EVS - European Volunteer Services. I was surprised to see her again and to see her with Matea. They met at Karver bookstore. She was with us when Charles took us to Lovcen to see where he is going to build his Adventures Park.
This is her from that day

See what I mean that Podgorica is a small town?!
