Skodar, Albania with Beatrice
Beatrice asking about busses to Tusi. There was no bus soon, so we decided to try hitchhiking

We stood on the corner for a while trying to hitchihike, then took a ride with what is called a private taxi here for one euro each to Tusi. In Tusi, we got a ride with the driver of this old Mercedes. He agreed to take us all the way to Skodar for 3 euros each. The last time I paid 10 euros just to go from Tusi to the border.

Some kids were playing hide and seek, or what they call cache cache in French.

Beatrice left her cell phone in the taxi and after much discussion and driving around, this driver took us to the first driver and she found her phone. But.... he wanted to charge her 5 euros for driving her around Skodar looking for the first driver. The first driver was very offended by this and would not allow B. to pay it. Instead he took out a five euro note and put it on the dashboard. Beatrice felt very bad about this but he insisted. Then he took us and her French friend out for a drink! His car was old, but he is a very good person. And now we are all friends for lif.

Beatrice, Aurore, Besnik
I tried to secretly give the waiter 2 euros and explain to him that the next time the driver comes to the cafe, he tell the driver that his drink is on the American, but the waiter didn't understand and told the driver, whose name is Besnik.
This is another example of how things can quickly go from bad to good when there is at least one good person involved.
Anyhow, here are some pics from Skodar.
