Things I like about ME
In this case ME means Montenegro!
So here are things I like about Montenegro:
- It is easy to make friends here.
- A lot of people speak Engllish
- A lot of people dont
- The annoying toourists leave after the summer season is over
- You can still "water the flowers" just about anywhere when you feel nature's call
- Laws are flexibly enforced. Like wearing helmets on motorcycles.
- High school students have more freedom than in some of the moore "developed" countries I have been to
- For example, the schools don't call the parents if the student doesn't show up on time to school
- Students can skip up to 25 classes without any real punishment. (It used to be 30)
- Students are not as afraid of their teachers and school directors as in some countries
- Students don't have to wear uniforms
- Students answer my text messages while they are in class without extreme fear of getting punished
- Students in Budva once had the ability to walk directly outside the some of their classes for a chat, a smoke or some fresh air (or all three)... or to rent a bicycle beach buggy. (See video)
- You can park your car just about anywhere you want (See creative parking)
- There are a lot of problems here. (I like to solve problems.)
- There are a lot of intelligent people here.
- There is a lot of potential and opportunity for business here and for doing good things to help people.
- You can get a pizza for 1 euro (see April 15, 2009 photo journal pics)
- You can park your motorcycle on the sidewalk. (see April 16 photo journal pics)
- People here usually let me take their picture, and often even ask me to - even the adults.

My dentist. Today he did a lot of work for me and didn't charge me anything. The last time I went he charged me 20 euros. The times before that he has charged 20 or 30. I think it was 25 to extract my tooth. A guy from Canada just told me it cost him around 1,000 dollars to have a tooth extracted in Canada. Another time my dentist gave me some pain killer when my tooth was really hurtiing and didn't charge me anything.
Most of the time I can just walk in without an appointment and many times I don't even have to wait when I walk in like that. Today for example he was free when I went in.
I also like that he doesn't wear gloves or put on a mask. Some will say it is dangerous but I like the fact that he doesn't. I don't know if dentists are required to wear gloves here, but I bet they are in other countries. He is kind of "old fashioned" but I like that. He seems like he is doing the work because he likes it, not to make money. I am guessing he has his house paid for and is debt free. I feel confident with him. I trust him. He seems sincere and genuine. That is worth a lot to me, as I said with Bosko who has helped me many times with my computers.
Later I will put some pictures of his place and maybe of him. For now I will just say his place goes by the name of Extradent.

You can walk on the train tracks here.
You can usually get a ticket one minute before the train is about to leave because there usually are no lines.
You can open the door while the train is moving on some of the trains. You can also hop on these trains while they are moving and get in if the door is still open. (I have done this before in Romania and it was possible in Bulgaria.) It helps a lot if you are running late.
You can open the window on all of the trains I think. (You can't on the new ones from Western Europe)

You can send text messages to high school students and they can reply while they are in class. In some countries they are too afraid to because they will be punished or their phone will be taken from them. (They can reply if they have credit, which they don't always have here.)
--
Some students are not afraid to skip a few classes or a few days of school. The schools don't make such a big deal out of it as they do in some places. This is one of the ways there is more freedom here, in other words.

You can hug your friends here. Students here, like in other countries, are suprised when I tell them in some schools in the USA you can get punished for hugging your friends.
Here is a YouTube seach you can do to see some of the videos about this. It searches "detention, hugging"
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=detention+hugging
If you are not from America, youi might not believe this at first. But I promise you this is no joke.
